The rigid track is a high-end track introduced by foreign-funded enterprises from Europe and the United States after 2000, replacing the original design defects of the KBK track:
1. Forming
The KBK track uses two welded pieces, requiring the manufacturer to control deformation and welding quality. The rigid track is formed by a single cold-rolling process, effectively avoiding quality issues such as secondary welding deformation.
2. Main beam operation deviation
Due to its use of ball-point flexible connections, the KBK experiences one end starting while the other end is slow during operation, causing the main beam to deviate and rebound after stopping, affecting positioning accuracy.
The rigid track uses all rigid connections, allowing both ends of the main beam to start operating simultaneously, resulting in more accurate positioning.
3. Single and double beams and clearance
Due to the strength of the KBK track and the limitations of its components (trolley and main beam hanging parts), a double beam design must be used when the tonnage exceeds 1 ton or the span exceeds 8m within 1 ton, while the rigid track truss design ensures that a single beam can be used for loads within 2 tons.
The KBK itself must use additional I-beams as support, increasing its clearance. In contrast, the application of the rigid track truss design ensures a smaller clearance and reduced steel usage, making it lighter and simpler.
4. Connection safety: The KBK track and I-beam load-bearing beams, as well as the connections between the track and the main beam, all use flexible connections such as bolts, ball points, pins, and clamps. The structure is flexible and has significant sway, so there are safety hazards due to potential loosening of bolts, requiring regular inspection and maintenance.
The rigid track is fixed with thick steel plates and high-strength long screws. The connection between the track and the main beam uses a sleeve-type fixation, completely eliminating sway space, ensuring safety and reliability.
